The Ambatchdotcom Seocontest is over and life is slowly returning to normal.

I ended up placing 4th at the end of the contest.... probably more frustrating than if I'd come in 20th but that's life and now I've got to get back to my usual activities.

I've developed a bunch of new sites and have a few more on the back burner.

My contest site has dropped from 3 to 4 today and I'm stressed.

For the past several weeks I've been pushing to the limit to bring my site into the top 2 and my reward is to loose a position!

I'm honestly not sure what to do now. I've noticed that the top three haven't posted in their front end at least in weeks .. Age magician hasn't posted in over a month so maybe my "do something" personality is working against me .

I find it almost impossible to just sit and watch. I want to keep adding fresh content, keep re-arranging my amatchdotcom seocontest entry but it seems like I should sit still.

I was trying to fight the urge to "do something" while I was in the third spot and I was loosing that fight, I'm not sure that I have any hope of doing nothing after dropping to 4th!

So I'm here, pouting.

Tomorrow is another day, lets hope the ambatchdotcom seocontest gods will smile at me again.

Well isn't that just the silliest thing.

Actually, not really, I added new content yesterday and this morning this entry has dissapeared out of the rankings.

My new content didn't have a chance to make any impact so I'll have to watch over the next few days to see what comes of it.

Just thinking though, I'm not sure if I actually have complied with the contest rules on this site - will check that out and find out if this site is valid ambatchdotcom seocontest!

It looks like the new guy might be related to a steam roller!

I see the kdm entry in the world seo championship contest for ambatchdotcom secontest falling from 2nd to 3rd spot while estebanpanzera rolls through the rankings. The question is, will his momentum knock age magician out of 1st spot or will he stick in 2nd spot?

Kdm has made some onsite changes but it's too soon to tell what effect they will have. In addition, she's adding some SEO advice to her blog.

Ambatchdotcom Seocontest - Contest OnGoings

Well the news has broken that Peter Drew has entered the ambatchdotcom seocontest contest.

At least one person said outloud - who the hell is Peter Drew? I had the same question but instead of asking, I followed the links that Age Magician provided and found out for myself.

Turns out that he is the creator of some software that auto builds blogs for adsense - the claim is that the software can automatically build 70 blogs per hour! Wow. I might even look into buying it but given that the price is not easily accessed, my guess is that it's not $29.95!

The other item of interest is that his other site for another related software - something to do with Keyword locating I think, seems to be in partnership with the contest bigshot, Kelvin.

The question in my mind, is this fair?

Well, ethically.... no.

If a major company is running a contest, the fine print almost invariably states that the contest is not open to employees or anyone affiliated with the company. This Peter dude is very obviously affiliated with Kelvin.

On the other hand, Kelvin presumably has no control over Google and the bottom line is that Google will declare the winner by it's search results.

So, while it's obvious that this guy is going to have a massive advantage through his blackhat techniques - he already has over 8000 backlinks to his contest site which is nothing more than a bunch of "ambatchdotcom seocontest" 's, there is no real basis for anyone to request that he be disqualified from the contest.

Is this a planned move on Kelvin's part? Has this been the plan all along, to prove the worth of the software, to create all these backlinks to his site with some backend deal with Peter Drew to potentially take all 3 winning positions using his software to build a massive amount of backlinks that is unrealistic for the average participant? Who knows.

Am I giving up? Not yet. But I will definately be watching the movement on this. Peter's site is already in 5th spot with a page full of nothing - I can imagine what will happen if he adds some content. Or, maybe, this is proof that content is NOT king - another topic for another entry.

Well then, this is totally unexpected!

Here I am watching the kdm entry for ambatchdotcom seocontest when in my rearview mirror I see that this one has crept up to the number 6 position! Isn't that a hoot!

This might just give some credibility to the concept that google likes it's blogspot pages a lot since seo on this has been virtually nothing.

If it keeps jumping like this it could be in the top 3 for the end of the month prize! (shaking my head and questioning everything I thought I ever knew about SEO)

Contest entrant KDM has revealed in a recent blog post that she is a SHE!

While KDM didn't exactly come out and say that she is a woman in her ambatchdotcom seocontest entry, the tongue in cheek man bashing at the end of the entry really kind of gives it away. Or is it a trick? Perhaps KDM is trying to entice users to the site by being controversial?

Well, I guess it remains to be seen but I'll be watching this entry for clues to the identity of this ambatchdotcom seocontest entrant.

well, this contest entrant has seemingly found a unique way to fill the pages of the ambatchdotcom seocontest entry site with some thing more interesting than just pure spam of the key words.

It will be interesting to see how well the site works out in comparrison to some of the others.

It sounds like a good plan but since the rank just dropped from 2nd and 3rd place to 6th - it may not work. Perhaps google just can't really determine what is good content, and what is just bashing keywords over and over.
